About Muia Criminal Law
We are here to ensure that every client receives a just outcome.
At Muia Criminal Law we innovate the standards of a criminal law practice by being a firm that is dedicated to our clients, explores every possible avenue, advocates equality, achieves the best outcomes and gives back to the legal community through education and supporting first-generation lawyers and women in law.
We aspire to protect and defend the individual’s liberty and provide access to justice for any person facing criminal charges, regardless of socio-economic background by being transparent and straightforward about the process while being dedicated to the client’s best interest and overall outcome.
At Muia Criminal Law we not only work with clients but also support the legal community by being involved in different associations aimed at education and innovating the criminal justice system. We provide education and mentorship to students and young lawyers. We also assist with representing vulnerable members of our community by maintaining our status on the Legal Aid roster.
Maria Rosa Muia
Maria Rosa maintains a practice dedicated to criminal law and has experience representing various criminal offences. She has represented clients in both the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice.
Maria Rosa received her Juris Doctor from Bond University in Gold Coast, Australia. Prior to law school, she completed her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto. She has since worked exclusively in criminal law.
Maria Rosa is also an active member in the legal community. She is a member of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association and sits on the Recent Call Committee, has been appointed by the Law Society of Ontario as a tutor for the Barrister Licensing examination, and she is a Per Diem duty counsel lawyer for the Central East region. Maria Rosa is passionate about providing access to justice and is a strong supporter of women and first-generation lawyers.
